Before commencing my Fine Arts degree at Hunerkada College of Visual and Performing Arts in Lahore, Pakistan, I pursued a short course in Graphic Designing at Edge International College of Graphic Designing, also situated in Lahore. This foundational experience provided me with a comprehensive understanding of industry-standard software applications essential for graphic design, including CorelDRAW Graphic Suite, Adobe Photoshop, FreeHand MX, and AutoCAD.
Upon completing my degree program, I seamlessly transitioned into practical application, leveraging my newfound skills to explore a unique artistic avenue. Blending the traditional principles of fine arts with contemporary digital mediums, I embarked on a journey of creating paintings within the realm of these software platforms. This innovative approach has allowed me to redefine the boundaries of artistic expression, demonstrating that graphic design tools are not only instruments of commercial design but also potent mediums for artistic creation.
In the broader context, while many educational institutions tend to compartmentalize Fine Arts and Graphic Designing as distinct disciplines, I perceive them as interconnected facets of the same creative spectrum. Just as traditional art forms such as oil painting, miniature painting, sculpture, and printmaking hold their place within the artistic canon, graphic design, anchored in digital media, represents a contemporary manifestation of artistic expression.
To further expand my skill set and diversify my artistic portfolio, I recently undertook a short course in web designing at Logix College in Sargodha, Punjab, Pakistan. This venture culminated in the creation of my inaugural web design project, marking a significant milestone in my journey as a versatile artist adept at navigating the intersection of traditional and digital art forms.
